These drawings are mockups for my new homepage. They were created in Illustrator using features like the transparency palette and opacity masks. I'm considering using them alternately on the site to add interest while keeping the same logotype.
These collages are three of the illustrations for a series of poems called "colors". "Red" is basically directly scanned from a photo but "Blue" and "Green" are collages created in Photoshop using more then a dozen layers. Several masks were used to blend elements together using gradients.
I experimented with using raw wool for this collage entitled "Little Death". Wool was directly scanned and dropped into a Photoshop document. I scanned the drawing of the face and added the wool piece by piece to create the hair and woolen body.
"Greenman" is one of my favorite color pencil drawings. It was used for the cover of a mock CD for a band called "greenmen". The layers were built up and blended to create an almost photographic look to the surface.
These drawings were part of a series of illustrations for a group of poems called "corners". They were scanned on my EPSON Expressions scanner. I find that pencil drawings can be excellent illustrations if they are scanned correctly and tweaked in Photoshop.
