#00003 Memphis Charlie's got the blues- autographed harmonica given to me by Charlie Musselwhite, which I have appropriately enshrined for posterity. Charlie was born and raised in Mississippi and Memphis, and drifted north in time to be a part of the legendary 1960's Chicago blues scene. He cut his bluesharp teethe with many of the blues icons and originators including Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Luther Tucker, etc. As both a traditionalist and innovator of blues harmonica Charlie has expanded the parameters of blues harp into Latin music and beyond, and has gone on to become the elder statesman of the blues harp, winning six W.C. Handy awards. Check out his website and tour schedule.
