I have far too many books on gardening but not as many as cooking: I am compulsive.
I am always looking for that book which contains all those little known gardening "secrets"
...but that book does not exist methinks. That said, here are a few must haves if you garden in California Zone 14/15 or the nearby regions..
Here are a few tools I have found work really well in my garden:

Mirror Finish Stainless Steel Head Border Fork made by Spear & Jackson. The Traditional Border size Fork has 4 tines, each mirror polished stainless steel and with a 1-piece hardwood handle and YD grip. This is a slightly smaller version as opposed to most forks, perfect for working in my raised beds. I have two sizes of these, really handy item for many tasks. Tubtrugs are build to last-two extremely strong handles and flexible body make handling a Tubtrug much easier than any average bucket or tub. Tubtrugs have reinforced ribbing for extra-strength and super-strong comfort grip handles. These tough guys are also frost-proof and UV-resistant.
Narrow Collinear Hoe, this thing is just so handy. Sharp, lightweight and has reach.
