In October 1999 I backpacked with friends along the rugged and roadless "Lost Coast" of northern Mendoceno County. This alder lined part of the creek was about 100 yards from our campsite on the beach. (If you try to find this creek on a map, please note that I took some liberty in naming the print. The real name of this creek is "Jackass Creek").
