Why Can't I Be Divine, II?

Your assignment is to review this portion of England’s history and see if you can begin to answer the question: "Why didn't England follow the path to absolute monarchy that the rest of Europe did?".

  1. The class will be divided into 7 groups.
  2. Each group will be given a section to read and review [between pages 156-159].

  4. Turn the heading title of their section into a question [or two].
    Make sure your question is big enough to include all the key evidence in your section.
  5. Read the section and write down 5 &emdash; 7 facts that will help answer and explain your question.
  6. Answer the basic questions of who, what, where and when for your section.
    NOTE: you may need to go to other sections or outside resources to get all the facts you need to answer the questions(s).
  7. Create/draw 2 &emdash; 3 images to make it easier to understand, for the rest of the class, your section.
  8. Write a 1 to 2 sentence summary of your section.
  • Each group will present their information to the rest of the class. This will include
    1. One person will give a summary of the section and answer who, what, where and when.
    2. One person will present the question and then present the facts/evidence to answer the question.
    3. One person will present the pictures and explain what they are about.
      NOTE: you will not so much be scored on your artistic ability as you will be on how the pictures help us understand your section.
  • Be sure to turn in all your information at the end of the period. Be sure to include all the names of your group's members.
