Here they are: click a thumbnail to see the full-sized version.
These are selective thumbnails: there's more to each picture than is shown in its thumbnail.
The newest are at the top, so the art gets progressively older (read: worse) as you go down.

And by the way, this is all © to me, so don't steal.

Some time after drawing the first pic of Mal, I sat down and figured this stuff out. Now I can draw him from any perspective. Let's hear it for plant elementals!

I was drawing floofy-spiky hair a la the Sandman books, and decided one of the faces was good enough to keep drawing for a while. Then I started another face, and the hair never got farther than crew-cut length because I decided it looked good that way.

Woohoo, a cybernetic chick! Heh, this character is going to be a lot of fun to write about, as soon as I think up something for her to do. Her name is Prabu, which I think is a fun name. It's what you call people instead of "dude" in India. The little dragony sidekick is called Fym, and she regards herself as the senior member of the partnership. On, and that invisible thing Prabu's resting her hand on is a futuristic rifle kinda deal [take my word for it; it's not really invisible]. I drew this pic in England. Woo-hoo.

This is the first pic of Rarr. Man, look at those ears. Nevermind, don't; it's embarassing. Anyways, this is concept art. I decided later that his skin would in fact be blue instead of the classic/cheesy goblin green. [Blue I can explain; ever hear of methemoglobinemia? Or the blue people of Troublesome Creek?] Anyhoo, Rarr here is a very interesting person: he's a hybrid between two nonhuman species on a somewhat Earthlike world, and has the unlikely combination of bright blue skin and even brighter red hair. Also many sharp teeth and two vaguely foxlike ears. And in this pic, a silver hand. That was an accident that I just went with when drawing, and now I actually have it worked into the story.

"Fanged Redheads, Unite!" Ha, it's fun when you have characters from opposite ends of the universe with something in common. These two would probably get along pretty well.

Here's a couple of fun little tyjex pix. The one on the left is plain mechanical-pencil-silver, while the other scene got colored. The tyjex on the right is giving a human guy a ride, who's carrying a tyjex hatchling in turn. It looks a little awkward, but hey, whatever works.

Aww. I didn't mean to make this look so sad; that's just the way it turned out. There's something about those ears that makes sadness terribly eloquent.

This began as a scribbly sketch of an interesting pose, and evolved from there. Now it's another character-who's-only-in-art-so-far, Tallok's sister Eckert. She's watching the city from a ledge at night [which, cliche or not, is still fun to draw]. You can't really tell [bad scannner, bad!], but she's leaning against the wall and putting all her weight on her fingertips, with her back against her wrists. That is not an easy pose to depict.

At the top are the guys from Both of Me [a story of mine], and at the bottom is Stet from The Race [see the moving pix section]. Stet's fun. Here she's doing an exaggerated karate move I'd just learned.

This was another "Hm, this pose would be fun to draw" pic. I was sitting like this at school, and sketched it out. The little scribble in the corner is the test run.

It's Ian [or maybe a human with Ian's hair], and a capricane guy I made up on the spot. Oo, a lightning motif. His name's Ket. I imagine there more to it than that, but I haven't come up with a last name yet. He'll probably get one if/when I draw him again.

Here's some fun practice with my seldom-used watercolor pencils. It's Mal, putting his foot down [both literally and figuratively], in protection of a fellow plant. He can be a fierce little elemental when he wants to be.

This is a charcoal life drawing from a class I took a while ago. That was a great class: it's what helped me learn to draw people who didn't all look like they came from the same inbred family. This particular pic was fun; the lady had great hair.

This guy was interesting to draw. It's kind of funny how every time I drew him it looked like someone totally differnet. This version looks like someone I know, except with a rather large cranium. We'll just say he's really smart.

Glasses are difficult to draw. Or at least to draw right. I could say the same about beards, but this time wasn't too bad. My brother said this guy looks like he should be named Ben. Okay, why not?
