And Rainbow celebrates by having their biggest sale of the year – The Spring Anniversary Sale, where (nearly) everything in the store is 20% off! Save on clothing, feed, tack, pet supplies, garden supplies and irrigation. There are also Hot Buys, special sales items and fun events. At the Ukiah store, there will be a bake sale in front of the store on Saturday and Sunday, with the proceeds  going to help end childhood cancer. New in the stores – spring and summer fashions for every member of the family! Check out the great selection of boots, hats and clothing, just in time for Rodeo season! Outfit your pony in colorful splint or bell boots, a new headstall or saddle pad, to get into the spring spirit. The sale is also perfect time for stocking up on summer supplies that we know we'll need – fly spray, Swat ointment, buckets and supplements just to name a few! From nearly 200 original entries, the final Top Dogs were picked by voting on Facebook and the winners were announced on Friday April 29. Congratulations to the beautiful pups who will grace the labels of Rainbow's Natural Nuggets Dog Treats for the coming year! And, thank you to everyone who participated by bringing in their dog for a portrait and voting. Thank you also to photographer Catherine Reese, who did a great job on all the dog's portraits. Don't forget, if your dog had his photo taken during the Top Dog contest, you can purchase portraits, mugs, key chains and other fun stuff directly from Catherine Reese. This year marks the 70th Annual Spring Festival and Rodeo in Potter Valley. Events kick off on Saturday May 28th, with the Parade down Main Street Potter Valley. The parade theme this year is Historical/Patriotic and there's still time to enter. The parade is sponsored by the Potter Valley Youth and Community Center and all details are on their website. After the parade, enjoy a Chicken Barbeque at the fire station, Junior Rodeo and special events including the Axe Throwing contest, Woodcutting Competition, Team Roping and the ever-popular Starlight Dance. On Sunday, it's CCPRA and Local Rodeo starting at 1:00 PM! Enjoy Beef & Lamb Barbeque and great rodeo entertainment. Then Monday the 30th, join in the Lisa Christofferson Memorial Gymkhana and Playday. All events take place the Potter Valley Rodeo Grounds, in beautiful Potter Valley.
