September News
Did you watch the Olympics? The greatly expanded television and on-line coverage gave more people than ever the chance to share in the USA athletes triumphs and disappointments. Of course for Equestrian sport enthusiasts, what could top our US Show Jumping Team’s Gold Medal performance! A cliff hanger of a competition, the US and Canada was tied at the end of the final round and a jump off was held. In Show Jumping, the jump-off goes to the cleanest rounds, then the fastest times so action was fast and furious, while three US riders went clean over a foreshortened course with jump over 5 feet high. The Canadian team had great fast times, but 4 faults, giving the gold medal to the US.
In Dressage and Eventing, the US teams placed 4th and 7th, and Gina Miles of the US won the individual Silver medal in the Eventing competition. Overall it was an exciting 10 days of top-notch equestrian events. If you missed it, the complete video coverage is still available on line.
