Mike Shea and camera

Mike Shea, maker of And This is Free, the now-legendary documentary about Maxwell Street Market, with his then state-of-the-art hand-held camera. It was one of the earliest cameras connected to its sound equipment without a cord, giving the cinematographer greater freedom to move. It was ideally suited to street work. The sound man (below) is Gordon Quinn. The film was made in the summer and autumn of 1964.
