St. Patrick's

The old wooden St. Patrick's, originally built in 1899 on Cane Street and moved to this location at the corner of King and Locust in 1922 , was deemed to be more filmically picturesque and small-towny than the new church, which opened in 1941. Since then, and until it was torn down in 1960 for St. Patrick's School, it served as the parish hall. All us little LCM School Catholics attended Catechism there. I loved the colorful, old-fashioned ornate stained glass windows and the ancient dusty, parched wood aroma of the place. Closeups of some of the "parishoners" are on the following pages.
