Dear Friend of the Ukrainian Diabetes Project,

We would like to take just a few minutes out of your day to report all of this year’s activities and accomplishments, which have resulted from your on-going support. It is with great satisfaction that we continued to expand and increase our diabetes programs.

Through our continued collaboration with the Diabetes Charity Fund of Kiyiv, we successfully shipped blood glucose meters and strips for 100 children. The Diabetes Charity Fund will distribute them during the next year. In addition, diabetes camp was held this summer and operated through the Diabetes Charity Fund. The UDP was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict; however we are pleased that they are carrying on services to the children in our absence.

The two Ukrainian teens that were sponsored by UDP last summer in a work experience exchange at the Diabetic Youth Foundation Bearskin Meadow Camp were successfully placed at the diabetes camp in Ukraine to work for two weeks this past summer. They were able to share their American experiences with the staff and campers.

We continued our collaborative efforts with Santa Rosa West Rotary Club and Rotary in Kiyiv in hopes of obtaining local active support from the Kiyiv Rotary Club.

UDP became an official non-profit organization in March 2005. We are pleased to be operating with a board of directors that meet regularly throughout the year. None of this would be possible without you. We want you to know just how much we appreciate your support for our effort. We hope and pray that we can continue to count on your support in this important effort to provide services to the diabetic children in Ukraine.
