JOURNAL day 8 Debarkation
The ship pulled into port about 7am but were told
debarkation would not begin until the ship was cleared
(about 2 1/2 hours). Everyone needed to be out of their
rooms by 8am and into our designated areas by 8:30am.
At 9:30 we were still sitting, waiting for some announcement.
I think what they're doing is getting all the luggage off
the ship and lined up so the dogs can sniff everything in
peace before everyone gets off. At 10:00am the debarkation
announcement was made.
You get off the ship by color and
luckily we were the second group to depart. Once we were
off the ship we found our bags and were out front in 5 minutes.
They didn't check our carry-on's or anything.
We got to the port using the SuperShuttle so I went
to that desk to get a ride back, right? Wrong! We were
supposed to make a return reservation before boarding the ship.
No one told us of this detail. We waited a few minutes and
caught a cab. The ride was cheaper ($36 for all four of us)
but I wasn't too sure if we were going to get there in one piece.
I've been on scarier roller coasters but then again a roller
coaster has its confines. A plane ride, a bus ride, and 5 hours
later we were in the comforts of our home, envious of the next
group of cruisers already leaving port.
