Puerto Vallarta - Beach Party Tour
One of the excursions offered when you reach Puerto Vallarta
is the Beach Party tour. There is a morning or an afternoon tour
offered. We took the morning tour. We boarded a bus as soon as
the ship was cleared. The trip took about 20 minutes and I was
informed we were no longer in Puerto Vallarta but Nuevo Vallarta.
The bus pulled in through a security gate and into the Paradise
Village Beach Resort. The main building resembles a Mayan pyramid,
inside and out. Everything is immaculately kept. We went through
the lobby and into the pool area. The pool is larger than the
public pool we have at home. At one end is a spiral staircase
inside a tower feeding to a suspension bridge (watch your head,
there's a forehead high steel bar on both ends). Two large alligator
water slides split off right and left. Everyone in our group had fun
going down. Beyond the pool is the shaded tables and the beach.
We had access to the wave boards for an hour free. Vendors walk
the beach selling T-shirts, jewelry, or blankets. My daughter, Amy,
along with many others were getting their hair put into corn rows.
A very tasty beachside buffet is also available ($6.50). The
tour guide made an announcement that if you had an afternoon tour
you should take the 12 o'clock shuttle back to the ship, otherwise
you can stay until the 1 o'clock shuttle takes you back. We were
glad we had that extra hour.
