| Luckily Heathrow airport is very user friendly as we needed to find the Underground for our trip to the hotel. Signs were everywhere pointing the way. An hour trip put us just about across the street from our hotel. It was quite a change going from the laid back, horse and trolly, streets of Douglas to the, watch-your-step and look both ways twice, streets of inner-city London. Our room didn't quite have the beautiful ocean view, in fact it had a good view of the side of the office building next door, but it's central postion was quite convenient for our daily travels. As on Isle of Man, our room came with breakfast, which I liked better than in Douglas. | ![]() |

Our first full day in London was aboard the, "Big Bus". These open topped, double decker coaches, travelled the city, visiting many of the city's sites. The frequency of the busses allowed us riders to get on and off wherever and whenever we wished. Our plan for this day though was to ride throughout the city then the following day take the Underground to tour a few sites more extensively. We did get off the bus for lunch and to visit Harrad's department store. Our trip around the city took us just about all day. To the left is Debbie crossing London Bridge. Too bad the photo wasn't accompanied with audio as the tour guide was singing the, "London Bridge", song as we crossed. |
