And it gets worse ...

• Many agencies are requesting permission to grant access to their already-computerized public records only to one or several fee-paying, royalty-producing private-sector data purveyors.
• Will libraries have access to their local, city, county, state and/or federal public records - in their modern, useful form -only if they pay market-rate fees to private-sector public-records peddlers ... or, worse still, to a for-profit public-info monopolist?

And then there are libraries' [potential] patrons

• K-12 schools for student civics projects, administrator needs, etc. ?
• Community colleges, their civics students, adult students, etc.?
• Public colleges & universities; students, faculty, researchers?
• Community groups seeking to be informed about local govt?
• Cities seeking essential county data; special districts need info?
