Santa Rosa

The regional hub of Sonoma County, Santa Rosa downtown contains offices for County, State, and Federal Government. Downtown Santa Rosa has a mix of modern and historic stuctures. An abundance of trees is a characteristic which exemplifies the city. Located on the edge of an alluvial plain, Santa Rosa is surrounded on three sides by small mountains, some rising to an elevation of over 2000 feet above sea level.

Santa Rosa history is rich in culture and many different groups have called the area their home. Pomo, Miwok, and Wappo Indians originally populated the area followed by the Spanish in the early 1800's. Santa Rosa is located 50 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge and 30 miles west of the Pacific Ocean. Santa Rosa is the county seat and the center of trade, government, commerce and medical facilities for the North Bay and beyond. The city maintains a small town environment. It has a rich variety of architectural styles. Wine and dairy ranching dominates agricultural production.

The downtown and older core is on the east side of Highway 101 and expands into the surrounding hills. The west side streams out across the plain and is home to many newer and affordable subdivisions, community parks and is bounded by the vast Laguna de Santa Rosa, a great wide green space.

Santa Rosa offers 445 acres of developed parkland, combined with Spring Lake and Annadel State Park, totaling over 5,000 acres of preserved environments for hiking, biking, swimming, picnicking, fishing and fun.

Bennett Valley

Just east of Santa Rosa is my home area Bennett Valley. Bennett Valley is comprised of 15,500 acres of oak-crested peaks and rolling hills of grass. Whether you already live in Bennett Valley, are just visiting, or plan to move here, we can all undoubtedly attest to the magnificent beauty that the valley offers us.

It is truly one of the County's best kept secrets (of course, now you know about it!) and provides a close in getaway as a great place to live.
