The Mechanical Crower to EFI Conversion Project

Crower Mechanical Injection

After getting my Edelbrock/Weber PRO-FLO EFI installed on my 1934 Ford street rod running well I decided to make a small change in its appearance.  Well actually it may turn into more of a project than just a face lift.  I have been carrying this Crower Mechanical Fuel Injection unit around for many years (over 30) waiting for an opportunity to put it to use.  Seeing others convert Hilbourn mechanical injection to electronic controlled units got me thinking about finally trying to find a home for my Crower on top of my motor.  This is a neat unit because of the size of the stacks and the magnesium manifold.  This guy probably sat on top of a very hot dragster or hard top running alcohol.  If I can get it running it will certainly look wild on my little coupe.

Getting this to work is not going to be a trivial task.  Just about every aspect of this conversion is going to be difficult and present many challenges.  Because I am installing this into a finished car (well, secretly I guess it isn't finished or I wouldn't still be messing around with it...) I can't modify the body or the firewall.  Some of the problems I am facing are little things like no room for the throttle linkage, or a GM distributor or anything larger than a Vertex Magneto, or any kind of air cleaner taller than 1 inch.  This speaks of nothing finding space for the TPS, MAP, MAT, and Coolant sensors, or probably having to construct a new home brew ECU.  Besides these minor obstacles it will be a piece of cake.
Because I am still in the investigations stages I guess it will be easiest to just list some of the concerns and comment on current thoughts on how to solve them.

Any comments, inputs, and suggestions are more than welcome.  I would really like to hear from anyone with any experience with what I am trying to do here.
