Overview of the process of registering in Wallace's upcoming classes

Nearly all of the classes I teach initially block most students from enrolling directly and, instead, place them on a waitlist. This is so that we have room to enroll certain students later in the registration process. We do our best to insure that graduating majors can enroll in the classes they need to meet graduation requirements on time. We also lean towards serving our majors and minors first, and sometimes Asian Studies students also have an advantage. The screening of students with regards to their status in our department is done, on the whole, by Jan Johnson. The final decision of enrollment is made by me. However, I defer to Jan when there are relevant requirements issues.

If you write to me about enrollment, you probably obtain an advantage by following my usual email subject line format: "COURSE_YOURLASTNAME_yoursfirstname enrollmentissue". For COURSE use one of these: EA105, EA109, J7A, J7B (or another course number when appropriate). Further details on emailing me are here & my office hours, when posted, are here.
