ISLE of MAN (PAGE 2)
chips.jpg - 31659 Bytes The clerk thought we were crazy as we posed for a picture with the chips but we couldn't resist. Speaking of food, breakfast was complimentary each morning whick saved us quite a bit. Our English breakfast consisted of toast, oil-poached eggs, bacon, pork & beans, & a cooked tomato. There were other items on the buffet but most of the items were fried and I opted for cereal most of the days following.
Andrew and I had a room overlooking the first floor of the hotel and Douglas Bay. When he found the first floor roof was a resting spot for many sea birds, Andrew started bringing back leftover bread for the birds. By the end of our stay many birds camped out in front of our window waiting for the bread. He had quite a few birds trained to circle in front of the building and come in for a flying catch in front of the window. birds.jpg - 13149 Bytes
mini.jpg - 28344 Bytes On one of our free days we boarded the Island Steam train for a town across the island. Prior to boarding we picked up a few snacks at a nearby grocery store. The kids enjoyed seeing grocery items unknown to our grocery shelves. To the left is Amy and Andrew with their cousin Becky showing off the, "cute", soda cans.
