| The local politicians were active and involved with some of the NAMA's dinners and very accessable to us. To the right is Wes with the Speaker of the House of Keys. He and other Ministry department officials chattted with many of us. It was very strange to have all these Isle of Man officials, unguarded, and amongst us common folk. | ![]() |

Even when Prince Charles flew over to officiate Tynwald Day (celebrating Isle of Man's parlimentary process) the security seemed to be very light. The procession to his reception brought the Prince right in front of us, then on our way to dinner, the Prince was leaving his dinner and stopped for a few moments to talk with the crowd, including one of Debbie's cousins. |
| Our last evening on the Isle of Man had us breaking out the dress clothes for . Each dinner table had 8 NAMA conventioners and 2 local Manx hosts. Our table had the woman who sang for the Prince at the Tynwald, and her husband, a retired "Bobbie". The dinner was good but the evening went quite late and we weren't looking forward to our early flight to London. | ![]() |
