VBA Automation

This term refers to using the Visual Basic for Applications environment within MS Excel and Word to, well, automate entry or processing of data.  Below is a screen shot of an engineering tool for analyzing Div 1, Appendix 2 flanges.  While the imagine is too small to examine details, the application allows for varying virtually all parameters in this methodology with the addition of 'goal seek' functions for finding maximum pressures, temperatures and corrosion allowances.

I've also written complex userform-based Excel applications for internals sizing that are used by a major oil company.  This integrates Excel with Word for numerical processing and document production.  Below is the main user form with process information on the left and mechanic information on the right.  The different catalyst bed information are accessed by clicking on the button in the imagine in the middle of the form.  The color of the buttons change for the mechanic side when stress exceed (red) or come close to (yellow) the limit stress.

Other projects have included a MS Outlook 'sniffer' to extract information from the .pst files used by Outlook.
