The Campaign for a Healthier
Community for Children (CHCC)

The Campaign for a Healthier Community for Children (CHCC) is a project of APPLE FamilyWorks of Marin County. One of the main goals of CHCC is to facilitate the rebuilding of community and to strengthen families by offering participation in projects, programs and intergenerational activities. In order to accomplish its goals, the CHCC works in collaboration and cooperation with a number of organizations and agencies in the community.

The May Day Festival benefits the Campaign for a Healthier Community for Children, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families and rebuilding community via creative after-school activities for children and teens. For the last six years, CHCC has collaborated with Amazon Productions to organize the May Day Festival. This enchanting event celebrates the ancient traditions of May Day and the return of Spring. Now in its 10th year (!!) the May Day Festival seems to attract a wider audience each year, especially because it offers families the chance to celebrate in an alcohol-free environment. The most important aspect of this event is broad public participation, which is encouraged on all levels. Together, we create a unique celebration that we as a community can be proud of.
