blank Journal day 5 Mazatlan

Elation in MazatlanWith a little more sleep we were up early and ready for the day. The ship docked at around 8:00am and by 8:30am we were shuttled out of the shipyard and on our City/Beach/Shopping tour. There was the six of us along with another couple in the vehicle. Amy We were only in a Surburban and we thought it was funny when the driver got out his microphone to explain everything. It wasn't like we were that far from him. I wanted to go to the Mercado Municipal (open air market) after the tour and the driver kindly obliged by dropping us off on the way back to the ship. I had read this market was the largest in Mazatlan. The area was quite congested and for the first time we were the minority.Cathedral Andrew at point It was nice to be somewhere other than a mainstream tourist spot. There are many souvenir shops in this maket, but there also is meats, and vegetables. If it was part of a cow, pig, or chicken, it's probably sold here.Mercado I've seen a pig's heads before but never a whole cow head! There was bargaining but the bargains were not as good as at the flea market in Puerto Vallarta. A five dollar pulmonia ride and we were back at the ship and a late buffet lunch. We stayed around the pool until my brother returned from his fishing trip. He said the seas were pretty rough and none of the boats he went out with caught a Marlin. While most of the people he went with slept, he stayed up, riding the waves for something to bite. Tonight was the first night where I didn't really care for the menu. It was oriental night and after the first egg roll, I was stuffed. Other items included teriyaki duck, marinated pork, and chow mein.Cliff diver The waiters and busboys danced the Macarena for us. We all planned on going to the passanger talent show after dinner, but the rough seas and the busy day was too much for my daughter, Amy, and I so we turned in early while Debbie and Andrew stayed up for the show.
