TO ADAM: OUR REBELLIOUS ALIVENESS

Poem by Julie Ann Wilde

    Strange,
      Charmed,
        Beautiful --
The difference is held and respected,
Protected from attack
Inside a swift, responsive
Self-love.

How can we be wrong
By being who we are,
When it is our rebellious aliveness
That creates the dare
To live life?

There's real beauty and style
In the expression
(A highly visible & audible type)
No matter the stares
We get from strangers,
The fact of ourselves remains intact:

    Strange,
      Charmed,
        Beautiful.
We live inside an ever-present energy
Uniquely alive and pulling us out fully --
How it rambles through the body,
A thrashing, wild intensity!
So alive --
(More than the world outside can know!)
The life inside this energy
Draws us within its power, moves us
Along its invisible current --
It is here we strive:

    Strange,
      Charmed,
        Unusual life!
