MUSIC AND ARTS EXPERIENCE
  • Ashkenaz/San Pablo Avenue Peace Wall at Ashkenaz Music and Dance Café, Organized community tile art project for West Berkeley, with Stacy deCarion (Import Tile), under direction of Carolyna Marks, World Wall for Peace. Dedicated in 1998 to David Nadel, founder of Ashkenaz.

  • Hand drumming and percussion for dances, parades, rallies, and rituals.
    Styles: Afro-cuban, samba, contra music, middle-eastern inspired.
    Instruments: conga, ashiko, tamborine, tar, bell, whatever.
    Teachers: Mika Scott, Layne Redmond, Arthur Hull, Vida Bateau (her teacher was Carolyn Brandy), and Brother Ah.

  • Performances and participations include:


    • Returning to the Mother of Us All, concert by Jennifer Berezon at the Scottish Rite Temple, Oakland, CA. (accompanied solo dumbek artist, Mary Ellen Donald)
